Raw? Yes! Why??? I'm going back to basics. I've done this before and had wonderful results. With my current potassium and magnesium issue, I decided to shake things up.

I took Friday and Saturday off because I just felt really lousy. It took a few days of rest and meds to get me feeling good. Today I felt human, finally.

I have begun a 30 day raw program. My goal is 80%. I began my 24 hour water fast yesterday at 3pm. I broke fast today at 4:30 with an organic black apple. It was crazy sweet! I'd never had that variety before.

Dinner was a handful of seeds and an orange pepper with baba ganoush hummus. Just. Little hummus.

I had a whopper of a headache, due in part to not enough water. I have since guzzled and feel better.

I have decided to go simple this week. Nothing fancy. My purchase tonight included two things I've not had before:

1) Jicamat
2) Asian Pear

I even bought a peeler to keep at work.

I think Raw is "extreme vegan"

Well, well, well, look who's back in business and sharing her sassy posts with us!  Good to see ya, Penny, and glad to hear you're feeling better and more determined.  Of course, ya know, be sure to eat enough and all that, but you've been through this before and know what to do.  Keep us posted on how it's going.  We're rooting for ya!

It's been very difficult this week. I have experienced detox symptoms I haven't before. And I'm still not 100%. I'm drinking coconut water and eating bananas and such along with the supplements. I wish my energy would come back. But I'm trying, and about half raw. Working up. Hummus and black beans help with the headaches :-) Hoping for an easier time this next week, and gonna make some gazpacho with Kale tossed in for good measure!

Have you tried yoga yet, Penny?  I used to get serious migraines that would lay me up for days (talk about a bummer) and inversions (like handstand, headstand, and simpler ones where you literally just put your head lower than the rest of the body) really helped.  If you don't want to go to a studio, I'd recommend Tara Stiles' "Slim, Calm, Sexy Yoga."  It features different, simple, beginner routines you can do at home that are geared toward different ailments (they have a series for headaches, hangovers, low libido, digestive issues, clear skin, etc).  Those routines, a regular yoga practice, and a vegan diet really helped with the headaches.

Thinking of you as you detox.  Remember, this too shall pass. :)

Thank you Ashlee, I'll look into that. It was so easy when I did this program several months ago! But many things have changed since then. A day at a time!
