So yesterday I finally went grocery shopping for the first time in a couple of weeks. I shopped at Whole Foods, one of my favorite places to shop ever! I was so excited when I went even though I had worked all day. I went with a friend of mine who isn't vegetarian or vegan but is now coming to the idea. We spent two and a half hours in the store selecting and finding foods. I know it seems like it should not take that long but it did. We had a great time. I was so excited because I got everything I could vegan. I got cream cheese, sour cream, ice cream, imitation meat, soups, milk..EVERYTHING I could find. I love it all! I had never tried any vegan dairy products before but they are seriously delicious! I love that I can still enjoy ice cream and knowing I am doing no harm to animals. I really love being Vegan. About a week or two ago I went to Denver and ate at a restaurant called City O' City and it was amazing. They are completely Vegetarian/Vegan. I was so amazed at all the options you have. Everyone thinks that we live off salads. The food is so much better than that. I truly love that I can enjoy eating and know that I am not adding to the torture of animals. I have been signed up with PETA and GreenPeace for a while now. I want to do everything I can to help the animals in the US and the rest of the world. This is by far the best choice I have ever made in my life and I am grateful there is a community who feels the same way. Thanks everyone! :D

Comment by Tiffany Mikkelson on January 8, 2013 at 3:02pm I spend forever in my grocery store here. :-) Then again I have always enjoyed shopping for food but now it's fun as it's kind of a scavenger hunt trying to find vegan food in a not so vegan store. :-)

I have always loved good food, but I agree with you - I think I enjoy, appreciate, and luxuriate over food more now that I'm vegan than ever before. For one, almost all of the food is palatable to me (when eating meat, you always had to wonder "Is there a spleen in here, or a cow eye?" when eating ground beef, ya know?), and it's gorgeous! The Earth truly provides some of the most exquisite veggies, fruits, grains ever! And boy does Whole Foods make it all look so appealing! I love the food there, but I could really spend an entire day at the Whole Body section. Love me some cruelty-free beauty products! :)
