I watched Vegucated on Netflix and was truly inspired! I made the first step today at my doctors appointment and requested to see a nutritionist to change my eating habits. I have cut down on meat over the years and want to do more to lead a healthier lifestyle. 

I finally admit that I need help in learning how to eat better. I have done better in bringing down my blood pressure over the past few years and my doctor is hopeful that I can get rid of my pressure medication in the near…

I often write in an attempt to sort out the mess inside my brain.  Sometimes it helps.  So I might as well put my fingertips to the keyboard on this life change.  

I told my sister, via text chat, that I was not going to eat meat anymore - was going to try to avoid it anyway - and probably eggs and dairy too for that matter - to try anyway.  She replied, "did you watch a documentary or something?"  "Yes," I admitted, with an lol and frowny face.

     So since joining this community, I've been making healthier choices in my diet. To my amazement, it isn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I've even come up with a couple decent recipes. But right now I'm really happy with myself. Last night I had gotten taco bell (by request) for my family (not myself). I come home and start doing dishes. While doing the dishes, I started getting really hungry. By the time I was done with dishes, I was starving. So I started preparing something…


Not a great afternoon

So, this morning, after realizing I needed to increase my iron intake for energy, I made a decent shake, which was basically broccoli, mango, kale, and watermelon.  I waited a little while after drinking it and then worked out at the gym.  

When I got home, I had a few walnuts and almonds, then some pistachios.  I cooked lunch, which was green lentils, with raw broccoli, kale, avocado and green pepper, with just some red wine vinegar and mustard as dressing.
